NatureNet is a project that I started in September 2022 of feeding and observing all the wild mammals that visit my garden in south Derbyshire in England.
In this project as of may 2024, I have several feeding stations for the wild birds, one of these feeding stations also feeds the hedgehog and foxes at night. We do not only supply the mammal's with food but we also have multiple water fountains, water bowls, nesting boxes and bird baths that are cleaned regularly. We currently own 2 'normal' bird nesting boxes, 1 hedgehogs nesting box and 1 more bird nesting box with a camera fitted inside for observing them.
Most feeding stations, water sources and nesting boxes are equipped with high-resolution cameras, we currently have 5 cameras in total and this number is slowly increasing. All these cameras stream live to the internet 24/7 and 365 days a year on the NatureNet Youtube Channel.
This project started in September 2022 when I built a water feature and spotted two house sparrows that decided to take a drink then at thatΒ moment, i fell in love with nature, so i rushed to the shops and brought a small feeder bird feeder and small bag of seed, i hung the feeder up next to the water feature and i had a spare camera lying about so i fixed it on a tripod and the house sparrows found the feeder! I quickly rushed outside and started constructing a open seed feeder (taking inspiration from Bird Watching HQ and various other people) and a wood pigeon visited so i brought a cheap mini IP camera with poor image quality and no microphone and started streaming. Ever since then, the feeders and cameras quickly grew too where i am today.
Since the project began in 2022, the channel has achieved a total of 57.4 thousand views and more than 170+ loyal subscribers. Most viewers come from UK, followed by the Spain, Germany, US, Japan, Poland and France.
